What you'll make
A hand-carved ring or pendant, worked in jeweler's wax in class and returned to you cast in the metal of your choice (bronze, sterling silver, or gold) within two to three weeks.
What you'll learn
- ·How to design a ring or pendant that will translate well from wax into metal.
- ·How to size accurately before you commit a single cut.
- ·The grip and pressure wax carving requires: lighter and more deliberate than other carving.
- ·Rough carving to establish your form, then detail work to give it character.
- ·What makes a wax model castable, and what doesn't survive the foundry.

- A jeweler's wax blank in your chosen ring or pendant size
- A full jeweler's carving tool set, files, gravers, and wax pens
- Ring sizers and a mandrel to confirm your exact size before carving begins
- Professional casting arranged for you in bronze, sterling silver, or gold (casting materials fee billed separately, quoted from your piece's weight and metal choice)
- Pickup or local delivery once your finished piece returns from the casting house
